1.A work space is set of standard i.e. Metric,Imperial which contain standards for calculation,superelevation etc,while a worksets is simply a project or job that is using the selected workspace standards.sorry No idea about civil specific variables. 2.A Feature defination is used to define the symbology and display the feature of differenet elements types with discription to interacts with other element in project work.sorry No idea about broader classification.
