Question 1:
Solution:
BIM stands for BUILDING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
It is a process that is used to model and begins with the creation of an intelligent 3D model and also enables the management of the document, co-ordination and simulation , this process covers the lifespan of a structure and empowers the designing process.
Features:
- Makes the process more extensive
- Easy access to information: provides required information of the segments and point to point detailed visuals.
- Better GUI and user interface: provides a better option with the representable GUI design and Healthier user interface.
- Gives more comprehensive overview of the project: provides detailed views and support material for the required positions and specific reports are also provided
Advantages of BIM over 2D CAD tools:
- BIM offers a more comprehensive and complete representation of a buildings designs compared to a 2D CAD design.
- You can provide much more to the clients using BIM than you could with 2D CAD.
- BIM puts the documents into a single database which couldn’t be done with 2D CAD.
