Week 2 : Basic Calibration of Single cylinder SI-Engine

1)the case study was done in the GT suit at 1800 rpm :

i)BMEP(Brake mean effective pressure):9.477 bar

ii)IMEP(Indicated mean effective pressure ):10.61 bar

iii)BSFC(Brake specific Fuel consumption):239.16 g/kW-h

iv)air flow rate:24.64 kg/h

2)for increasing the power output by 10% at 3600 rpm:

i)intially i changed the intake pressure to 1.5 bar so there will be more pressure of air coming inside the engine and increses the engine power output

ii)then i changed the compression ratio to 12 which is max in SI engine.

iii)Then i changed the air to fuel ratio to 11.5 which is richer mixture.

the intial power output is 16.6 kW at 3600 rpm

the present power output is 21.4 kW at 3600 rpm
