Week -2
1)Doorbell system using solenoid
Procedure
* pulse generator block is used as the input
* Solenoid block is connected to a battery using a switch controlled by an external physical signal. This external physical signal is a pulse of period 4 sec inorder to obtain ton 2 sec. Simulink -ps converter is used to connect pulse generator and switch.
*Threshold for the switch is given zero, above zero the switch remains closed.
*Electrical circuits grounded using electrical reference block.
* The mechanical C&R ports are connected across ideal translational motion sensor and physical signal output port P is connected to a scope via ps-simulink converter.
*The mechanical circuit is connected to mechanical translational reference.
*output waveform is viewed using the scope.
2)Thermistor and fan system
Procedure
* Here signal builder circuit is used as input signal to the controlled temperature source which is connected via simulink-ps converter.
*A thermal referance is provide to the port A of controlled temperature source.
*port B of the controlled temperature source is connected to the input A port of the thermistor.
*Thermistor is connected to a battery and a series resistance as load.
*Voltage sensor block connected parallel to resistor. Electrical ckt is grounde by an electrical reference.
*voltage at port v is calculated and displayed. This value is provided as the threshold to the switch.
*two constant blocks of values zero and one is provided to the switch for off and on of switch. If the value from voltage sensor is above threshold then the switch is on and if it is below switch to off postion.
*the output from the switch is fed to the switch controlled by an external signal which is linked with the motor circuit.
*ideal rotational motion sensor is used to identify the postion of motor rotor, the output from the sensor is fed to the scope where we can obtain the rpm vs time graph of motor.
* Both circuits are grounded using references and connected by a solver configuration.
* Output from switch is also viewed by using a scope.
*the motor mechanical circuit is connected by a mechanical rotational reference.
