Week -2 Doorbell using Solenoid Block

1) Doorbell using solenoid block :

Various Blocks Used in Model –

  • Scope
  • Battery
  • Solenoid
  • Ideal Pulse Generator
  • Switch
  • Solver Configuration
  • Electrical Reference
  • Mechanical Translational Reference
  • PS-Simulink Converter
  • Simulink-PS Converter

Output 1 : In the Simulink Given input time period is -2 secs in the pulse generator to open and close the switch. When the switch is closed then the solenoid block receives electrical power supply from battery and plunger moves from port R to port C to ring the bell and producing sound. These movements of plunger is observed by using Ideal Translational motion sensor and physical output is converted into Simulink output model is displayed in the scope. By reducing the spring constant value and increasing the damping value vibrations will be reduced.

2) Use thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater and turn on and turn off the fan :

Various Blocks Used in Model –

  • Repeating Sequence Stair
  • Thermistor
  • Display
  • Scope
  • PS-Simulink Converter
  • Simulink-PS Converter
  • Controlled Temperature Source
  • Resistor
  • Voltage Sensor
  • Battery
  • Switch
  • Lamp
  • Solver Configuration

Output 2 : For 0-10 secs fan is OFF condition because temperature is 293K which is below 298K. After 10secs temperature goes to 300K so fan will turn ON, because temperature exceeds 298K. After 30secs fan will turn OFF because temperature goes to 296K which is below 298K.
