Week -2
Ans 1:
AIM: To observe the physical movement of the plunger when the key is closed for 2 seconds
Model Arrangement: The required model view of simulation is as follow:

Procedure: A signal builder is used to generate the signals, the time duration is about 10 seconds, and fluctuation was given for 2 seconds that is from 4 seconds to 6 seconds.
The graphical representation of the signal builder is as follows:

A solenoid configuration is being applied which is coupled with mechanical translation and an ideal motion sensor to sense the movement of the plunger and recorded as required. And, also SPST switch is used which takes the signal from the signal builder and acts as required.
Result: The result of the displacement is as follows:

As we can see from the figure, the plunger displaced around 0.003m, when the key is closed for 4 to 6 seconds. And when the key is opened after 6 seconds, the spring impulse has been evident as a result plunger gets displaced around 0.001m (+-), and finally, the displacement effect gets diminished once the circuit is opened.
ANS 2:
AIM: Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of the heater and turn on/off the fan as per the condition
Inputs: 0 to 10 seconds = 20 (degree Celsius), 10 to 30 seconds = 27 (degree Celsius), 30 to 50 seconds = 23 (degree Celsius)
Condition: Fan on if temp>25, else off.
Model Arrangement:

Procedure: Here, we have used the signal builder which generates the temperature signal in sync with time and coupled with the CTS and thermistor. The DC voltage source is also used which produced the constant 10V coupled with in resistor of 2 ohms. A switch is being used to indicate the on/off position of a fan aa s threshold value of 298K.
The required signal builder configuration are as follows: (as per the input condition)

Result:

This is the required result as expected, which shows during the time 10 to 30 seconds when the temperature was greater than 25 degrees Celcius, it kept the fan in on position which is indicated by 1 (0 for off position).
