Challenge

Week -2

1.DOORBELL CHALLENGE

In the above circuit,  a solenoid from simscape /electrical/ electromechanical/ mechatronic actuators is used as a main part. It has two electrical ports which are +&- terminals which will be connected to a battery terminals from simscape / electrical/sources through a switch and it has two mechanical ports which are R&C terminals which will be connected to Ideal translational motion sensor from simscape/foundation library/mechanical/mechanical sensors

A pulse generator from simulink/sources, which period and pulse width will be set as 4&50 respectively. So we get 2sec for switch close period ie.50%of 4 is 2. Along with this generator a converter will be connected to convert simulink to physical. Now the switch accept the converted particular signal.

Electrical and mechanical references connected to the corresponding circuits. Solver configuration block from simscape/utilities has been connected to the model to solve by the simulink solve

To get the graphical output, a scope is used from simulink/commonly used blocks via a physical to simulink converter from simscape/utilities which gives the converted signals to scop

Here, the stop time set as 10 sec . If we run the circuit, the plunger will be moves towards at every 2 sec and sensor sense the motion and get the graphical representation.

 Thermistor challenge

In this challenge, turn ON the fan if temperature above 25deg,off otherwise.

In this circuit, a NTC thermistor from simscape/foundation library/electrical/electrical elements. It has two electrical ports which are +&- which will be connected to battery from simscape/electrical/source. Along with this we have a port A which provides the resistance temperature, which is connected to B port of controlled temperature source which will provide required temperature according to its inlet signal.S is the inet terminal.

Here, a resistor is connected along with thermistor, by different polarity connection. A voltage sensor from simscape/electrical/sensors which is parallely connected to resistor with same polarity connection.

Now, required a three port switch from simulink/signal routing for triggered the threshold value. To get the threshold value, need a constant block and let's make the value 25deg which is the triggered value to turn the fan. But we want the value to kelvi n so converted to 25+ 273=298 and it covered to physical signal through converter and give to sensor. Now we will get the output from display. So voltage sensor port V connected to the display via a physical to simulink converter. Now we get a value like 0.01189.Now this value set as threshold value in the switch.

For the main operation, connect a signal bulider from simulink/sources instead of constant block and create a graph/plot as per the given information of temperature and time.

Now command out the display and remove it's connection to switch. Switch input port 1&3 connect to constant blocks and make 1&0 as constant blocks value.ie. On and off poison.

Stop time set as 50 and run the simulation and observe the proper graph
