Week -2

  1. Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details:

As per the above diagram we can construct a simulation model based on the perameter used by the known requirements for simulation.

Components used in the simulations are:-

Scope:-gives the plot o output.

Pulse generator:-it is a device used to generate required pulse/amplitude /frequency for the required time.

PS-Simulink and Simulink-PS:- it is used to convert the physical signal to simulink signal and vice versa.

solenoid:-it is an device used to generate emf.

Battery:- it is a device which has charge of +ve and -ve terminal with a charge.

solver configuration:-Defines solver settings to use for simulation.

Ideal translated motion sensor:-This block measures velocity or displacement in a mechanical translational network. The sensor is ideal since it does not account for inertia, friction, delays, energy consumption, and so on.

Electrical and mechanical referrence:- is reference block with which the system has a ground source as a bse.

Switch:-The block represents a Single-Pole Single-Throw (SPST) switch controlled by an external control signal vT. If vT is greater than the threshold, then the switch is closed, otherwise the switch is open.

By adjusting in the pulse width modulator we can generate the required graph.

  2. Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:

Components of the simulation model are mentioned below:-

Signal builder:- It can be used to build different types of signals.

Temperature source: 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds, 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds, 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds

Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise.

Display:-It shows the output.

Resistor:-It resistes the flow of current.

V=IR knowns as ohm's law. V-voltage, I-Current, R-Resistance

Thermistor:- It is the combination of thermal and resistance .

Controlled temperature source:- This block represents an ideal energy source in a thermal network that can maintain a controlled temperature difference regardless of the heat flow rate. The temperature difference is set by the physical signal port S. A positive temperature difference causes the temperature at port B to be greater than the temperature at port A

Voltage sensor:- The block represents an ideal voltage sensor, that is, a device that converts voltage measured between any electrical connections into a physical signal proportional to the voltage.

Thermal reference:- This block represents a reference point in a thermal network where the temperature is equal to absolute zero.

Electrical reference:- Electrical reference port. A model must contain at least one electrical reference port (electrical ground).

 Scope:-gives the plot o output.

Voltage source:- Used to supply the voltage in required amount.
