Week -2
Answer to Qno.-1
Here we have the doorbell challenge. For this I have taken a 12V dc battery,a switch which is can be triggered by a pulse generator and a solenoid block. The pulse generator output is fed to the switch through a Simulink-PS Converter. An ideal traslational motion sensor is added with the solenoid to sense the motion of the solenoid the sensed response is then fed to a Scope through a PS-Simulink Converter at the output to record it. Also another scope is addded to the Pulse Generator so we can see the generated pulse required for the switch to operated.
Moreover, solver configuration block, electrical and mechanical reference are also added to the model as per required. The above mentioned challenge can be seen in the simulink file I have attached named as- doorbellchallenge2.slx
Answer to Qno.-2
Here we have the Thermistor Challenge named as thermistorchallenge2.slx . Following blocks are used:-
a) Thermistor b) Signal Builder c) 12V DC Battery d) 1 ohm resistor e) A Voltage Sensor f) A Controlled Switch
g) A Controlled Voltage Source h) A DC Motor i) Ideal Rotational Motion Sensor j) 2 nos. of Scopes
- Here the temperature required for the thermistor to operate is provided by the Signal BuilderBlock through Simulink-PS Converter Block .
- The Voltage Sensor senses the voltage across the series resistance and the sensed voltage is fed to the controlled switch through PS-Simulink Converter block.
- Here for the switch to operate we have put its Threshold Value to be =>0.0115.
- As soon as the switch gets operated the sensed voltage of the voltage sensor is fed to the controlled voltage source.
- The controlled voltage source then impress that voltage to the DC Motor (fan) and the motor operates at the desired condition.
- The Ideal Rotational Sensor senses the motor rotation and feds its angular motion to the scope.
- The solver configuration blocks, electrical & mechanical reference blocks are added as needed in the model.
- Another scope is added to observe the voltage sensor response across the series resistor.
