Week -2
- Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details:
The circuit is as shown below:

COMPONENTS:
The circuit consists of battery, pulse generator, switch, solenoid, ideal translational sensor.
MECHANISM:
A signal is passed by a pulse generator, with a period of 4 sec and a pulse width of 2 sec. The amplitude is given as 1. A switch is connected in series with the battery and a solenoid with plunger mechanism is connected to it. To sense the movement of the plunger, an ideal translational motion sensor is connected.
OUTPUT:
The output pulse from the pulse generator is shown below:

The output pulse generation from translational motion sensor is shown below:

The disturbance shown in the plot represents the switch on and off.
2 Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:
COMPONENTS:
signal builder block: Used to provide signal inputs of specific temperature values at a given interval as per question.
controlled temperature source: Act as a source to generate the given variable input signal to thermistor.
Thermistor: To sense the temperature.
Battery and Voltage source: To generate voltage across the circuit.
Resistance: To measure the resistance value.
Voltage sensor: To measure the voltage value.
Switch: To provide input to the DC motor.
DC motor: Represent the fan.
Ideal Rotational motion sensor: To sense the rotational motion.

The threshold value given to the variable input switch is given below

OUTPUT:
output plot from signal builder block
from 0 to 10sec, temp=293.15K
from 10 to 30sec, temp=300.15K
from 30 to 50sec, temp=296.15K

output from ideal translational motion sensor:

As per the output it can be observed that when the temp is below 25 deg celsius the pulse is 0 else the switch gets actuated.
