Challenge

Week -2

Aim:

  • To Create a Simulation model of doorbell using solenoid and switch.
  • To use the Thermistor to sense the temperature of heater and turn off/on the fan as per condition.

Objective:

  • To make a Doorbell with switch to observe the physical movement of the plunger.
  • To use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the condition.

Theory:

The doorbell works by the use of electromagnetism. When the switch is on the current flow through the circuit which produce electromagnetic field through the solenoid which hits the plunger. The plunger starts moving due to electromagnetic force which hit the bell by producing sound.

Working of the Doorbell block diagram:

  • Here in the block diagram of the doorbell I have used battery, switch, Ideal Transition motion sensor, scope, pulse generator to measure the pulses.
  • The battery is connected to the solenoid which connected to the solver configuration and Electrical Reference.
  • The Ideal motion sensor is connected to the mechanism of solenoid and Mechanical transition reference the physical output is connected to the scope to show the plot of output.
  • The switch physical input is connected to the physical output and a physical Simulink convertor with pulse generator and scope.
  • When the voltage supplied the solenoid produced the magnetic forces which move the plunger which create the sound. Using pulse generate we can generate the pulse rate.

Output:

Part2:

A thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:

Temperature source: 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds, 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds, 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds

Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise

Output:

Conclusion:

  • The Doorbell simulation is done with satisfy the condition given and graph have been plotted.
  • The Thermistor simulation have been created and executed which satisfy the condition given. And graph have been plotted.
