Week -2

1. Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details:

Aim,
To Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block, and make it on and Off where the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released.

Blocks Used:
1.Pulse generator
2.Simulink to PS converter and PS to Simulink Converter.
3.Switch
4.Battery
5.Solenoid
6.Solver configuration .
7.Ideal Translational motiion sensor.

Block Explanation:

Pulse generator ->
This Pulse Generator Block generate square pule at required Interval wrt Inputs.

Simulink to PS converter->Converts Simulink Signal nto Physical Signal

Solenoid->This block implements the electrical and mechanical characteristics of a solenoid

Solver COnfiguration->Defines solver settings to use for simulation.

Ideal Translational motiion sensor->This block measures velocity or displacement in a mechanical translational network.

The sensor is ideal since it does not account for inertia, friction, delays, energy consumption

Procedure and Settings:

Connections were made as per the circuit in the the below and provide Electrical and mechanical Translational reference

Settings:

Settings for Pulse Geneator.

Connect two Scopes in Input and Output.

Output:

Input Scope:

Output Scope:

Observations:

with Respect to the Input feed we got the expected Output.

1.without Solver configuration ,The simulinks throws error.
2.the Ripple in Output is due to the Inductance effect of the solenoid.

2. Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:

Aim:

To Create A simulink model by using a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:

Temperature source: 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds, 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds, 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds
Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise

Blocks Used:

1.Repeating Sequence Stair.
2.Controlled Temperature source.
3.Thermistor
4.Resistor
5.Voltage Sensor
6.Battery
7.Electrical Reference
8.Solver Configuration.
9.Simulink to PS Cnverter and PS Simulink Converters
10.Scopes
11.Constant and Switches.

Block Explanation:
Repeating Sequence Stair->
The Repeating Sequence Stair block outputs and repeats a stair sequence that you specify with the Vector of output values parameter.

Controlled Temperature source:The Controlled Temperature Source block represents an ideal source of thermal energy that is powerful enough to maintain specified temperature difference across the source regardless of the heat flow consumed by the system.

Thermistor:This block represents an NTC thermistor using the B-parameter equation.

Voltage Sensor:

The block represents an ideal voltage sensor, that is, a device that converts voltage measured between any electrical connections into a physical signal proportional to the voltage.

Procedure and Settings:

Connections were made as per the circuit in the the below and provide Electrical .
