BUTTERFLY VALVE ASSEMBLY

Butterfly valves are a family of quarter turn rotational motion valves that are used in pipelines to shut off flow.It is often said that butterfly valves are used to regulate the flow. Butterfly valves are used where space is limited.

DRAFTING AND GD&T OF BUTTERFLY VALVE ASSEMBLY

Drafting and GD&T of butterfly valve is shown above. In the butterfly valve assembly we have to constaraints all the three degrees of the freedom. So we have to fix datums for that as the first step we fix the three holes as a datum target area A1,A2,A3. Then fix the datum as B for one hole and other hole which is far away from datum B is defined as Datum C. And the remaining hole is defined as datum D. Thus the butterfly valve assembly got constrained fully. The tolerance value is given to butterfly valve according to their features.
