Week 12:Project-1-Meshing of Door Inner Panel Challenge
Aim :
To mid surface and mesh the given model in hypermesh.
Quality Criteria :
Open the model in hypermesh as shown :
Procedure :
Fixing Geometrical Issues :
Defeaturing :
Replacing points, toggling edges, removing surface fillets etc. to fix geometrical issues :

Final Model after fixing geometrical issues :

Midsurfacing :
Since it is a complex geometry we take the mid surface by manual offset method, the areas with varying thickness have been captured by average thickness of the area :
Now we capture mid surface for each feature by defeaturing the surface fillets as shown :

Measure the distance and manually offset to take the mid surface :

The below-mentioned features are captured as shown :
Connect the features to the mid surface by extending the surfaces as shown :

After taking the mid surface the model is as shown :

2D auto mesh is used for meshing the model :

Some features are connected to the mid surface after meshing the model by replacing the node with the node as shown :

Quality parameters are entered and quality refinement is carried out on the model :

The model is passed for each quality criteria, the final model is as shown :

Assigning thickness :
Thickness is assigned to the mid surface and features by creating property cards and collectors for each component as shown :

2d Detailed representation of the mesh is as shown :

Learning Outcomes :
Learned to model complex geometries in hypermesh.
Learned to connect mid surfaces and model complex geometries.
Learned to mesh and refine surfaces.
Learned to assign proper thickness to components.
Result:
The given model has been successfully meshed and midsurfaced using hypermesh.
