Week 12- Final project
AIM: Development of door trim panel.
SOFTWARE: CATIA V5.
MATERIAL: Plastic material (Polypropylene) is used.
MACHINE: INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE.
PLASTIC COMPONENTS:
- MAP POCKET
- ARMREST
- BOTTLE HOLDER
- LOWER SUBSTRATE

INPUT: CLASS A SURFACES
PROCEDURE:
Tooling axis, Class B, C & closed surface, Draft analysis, solid part, Attachment feature creations.
STEP 1: Creation of class B & class C from input (class A).
The class A surfaces are given as input. First, we need to create the tooling axis. According to this tooling axis, a class B surface is created (thickness 2.5 mm) through surface modeling with reference to class A. And then class C surface is created. Class A and B&C are trimmed to create a closed surface.
STEP 2: Creation of solid part.
The closed surfaces are converted into a solid part. Draft analysis to detect the part will be easily removable from the cavity. This is denoted by some colors like green is >=5 degrees (safe), blue is 5-0 degree, and red is <0. we can edit the surfaces according to the draft analysis result.
STEP 3: Creating heat stakes, locators, flange & dog house.
