Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

REPORT

AIM:

To create the Switch Bezel Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the draft angle requirements and performing the draft analysis on the model at the end.

Procedure:

The first step is to create a tooling axis in the bisecting method. So I sketched, the first bisecting line through the ZY axis. The second line (3 degrees) was created through the ZX axis. Finally made a tooling axis by bisecting the first and second lines.

Then I created Class A and Class B surfaces and trimmed all class A, B, and C surfaces. Finally, the surface is changed into a closure surface. And check the tooling axis by using draft analysis. First, it shows the closure surface 1 edge as 2.9 degrees in some areas and 1.8 degrees in closure surface face 3. Then I changed the tooling axis by adjusting the second line through the ZY axis. Then all surface covers under 2.9 degrees which are shown in green color.

RESULT:

Finally, the tooling axis is created by using the bisecting method and checked through draft analysis.
