Week 12- Final project

Wk 12- Final project :- Development of a Door Trim panel

What to do in this given Project ?

Creation of CAD model considering following inputs as like in OEM and tier1 companies

  1. Class A surface
  2. Nominal thickness : Refer master sections
  3. Attachment strategy :

A attachment strategy for the door panel complete work.Make Use Push pin with Dog house for Lower substrate – Door panel attachment And Also make Use of heat stakes for part to part attachment.

Requiredments:

  • Create thickened part using master section for reference
  • Create the mounting features as per design guidelines in the industry and with master sections
  • Apply material details
  • Draft analysis & Tooling analysis
  • Creation of parting lines and check tooling feasibility

HOW PANEL SHOULD LOOKED :

Class A Surface :

  • In this given 4 parts of door not every part is proper in arm rest there is some gaps found. So for futher class we should first improve them below images shown are improved One.

1) Arm Rest :

2)Map Pocket :

3)Lower Substrate :

4)Bottle Holder :

Tooling Axis:-

  • for the Draft Analysis and side core we should create the axis . Hence to make the axis use point to direction option on the surface using line command .

1)Arm Rest :

2)Map Pocket :

3)Lower Substrate :

4)Bottle Holder :

Draft Analysis :

  • For Draft Analysis get the compass to tooling axis using compass option in D-A then lock it . then using D-A option and click on surface and match the degree with color scale of display option of D-A.

1)Arm Rest Draft Analysis :

2)Map Pocket Draft Analysis :

3)Lower Substarte Draft Analysis :

4)Bottle Holder Draft Analysis :

CLASS B SURFACE :

  • After checking D-A then offset the Given class A surface using proper direction.their might be some empty patchs so clear them up with sweep and multi-section.

1)ARM REST :

2)MAP POCKET :

3)LOWER SUBSTRATE :

4) BOTTLE HOLDER :

CLASS C SURFACE:

  • for creation of Class C surface make use of Class A boundary with sweep option using draft direction and reference surface.

1)ARM REST :

2)MAP POCKET :

3)LOWER SUBSTRATE :

4)BOTTLE HOLDER :

PARTING LINE :

1) ARM REST :

2) MAP POCKET:

3)LOWER SUBSTRATE :

4)BOTTLE HOLDER:

Engineering Creation Attachment :

1) HEAT STAKES : (7 heat stakes in model)

  • For Creation of Heat stake the master section should be followed, and for multiple of the heatstakes use Repletion parallel option .

2) LOCATORS : (3 locators in model)

3) DOG HOUSE : (2 dog house )

CLOSED SURFACE WITH ATTACHMENTS :

1)ARM REST WITH FLANGES ATTACHED :

2)MAP POCKET WITH FLANGES & HEAT STAKES :

3)LOWER SUBSTRATE WITH HEATSTAKES & DOG HOUSE :

4)BOTTLE HOLDER WITH FLANGES :

# DOOR PANEL ATTACHED WITH HELP OF HEATSTAKES , LOCATORS AND DOG HOUSE : [ BACK SIDE ]

# DOOR PANEL WITH MATERIAL APPLIED : [FRONT SIDE ( USING SIDE) ] : mATERIAL USED FABRICS ON (ARM REST,MAP POCKET,BOTTLE HOLDER) AND WOOD ( LOWER SUBSTRATE ) :
