Challenge

Week 11-3D Tetra Meshing Challenge

2D to 3D conversion

AIM: to create a tetra mesh for the given component from 2D to 3D conversion method

MODEL 1:

download the given model and open

delete the solids if found any.

check the geometrical issues by keeping it in topo mode.

for 2D mesh select 2D automesh select the surfaces give the target element and quality parametres.

and click on ok

select the tria elements to mesh.

for 3D conversion select 3D tetra mesh and tetra select the elements and slect displayed.

give the quality parametres. (tetra collapse) and select ok.

for clarification about the formation of tetra mask the elements and select some elements.there by we can see the tetra elements..

final model

RESULT: tetra mesh is done on given component by 2D to 3D conversion method.

model 2 and 3 : QUICK TETRA MESHING 3D MESHING

AIM: to create a 3D tetra mesh for the given components.

Procedure:

download the file and open it in hypermesh.

import the model.

view the model in topo mode to know about the geometrical errors.

select view which is displayed above row.

select browse, hypermesh in that utility and geometrical tool.

select quick tetra.

select the component

give the quality parametres as tetra collapse, target element.

select mesh.

for checking quality errors.

go to tools check elements and select tet collapse double click.

to reduce the errors select save failed and go to mask

select retrieve and mask the elemnts.

then itll show only failed elements.

select unmask adjacent gthen go to 3D tetra mesh and select remesh by selecting the elements.

there by we can reduce the failed elements.

MODEL3:

procedure is same as the above but the difference is target element and tet collapse value.

RESULT:

tetra mesh is done on the given components. by quick tetra mesh process.
