Week 11:- 2D Detailing Challenge 2
2D DETAILING OF CLAMP AND PIN UNITS
INTRODUCTION
The fixture design before going to the manufacturing department needs to be detailed clearly and accurately. All the dimensions to fabricate the fixture units have to mention in the drawing sheets. There are different drawing sheets available as per the company requirements. As per the customer given data, all the details must be provided.
The 2D detailing must be as per the engineering drawing data. First or third angle projections are to be implemented. The top view, right side view, and front view must be given with all the dimensions. The isometric view must be provided with the part name and details.
GD &T must be applied where ever it is required to minimize the cost of the production. Tolerances must be provided.
OBJECTIVE
The objective is to 2D detail the pin unit, and clamp unit by applying all the views and dimensions in CATIA
2D DETAILING OF COMBINE PIN AND SWIVEL UNIT
The pin unit must be detailed very clearly and neatly. The stroke length of the swivel cylinder must be presented in the drawing. The stoke length is 100 mm.

For the rest mylars, the side which is touching the panel must be machined so precisely that the panel should not get affected. This has to be noted in the drawing as CNC MACHINED AREA.

The holes dimensions must be given with tolerances of +-0.05 or +-0.1, so the machining cost can be reduced.

All the dowel holes and the threaded holes must be presented. Threaded holes must be given name as M8 or M10.

2D DETAILING OF CLAMP UNIT
In 2D detailing of the clamp unit, the clamp opening angle must be presented. It should be around 95 to 135 degrees.

CONCLUSION
The 2D detailing of the fixture unit, base unit, pin unit, and complex pin unit is provided with all the child parts' detailing.
