Challenge

Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

Aim:-  To Create the door trim lower plastic component through the given Class A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model. Create the Heat Stakes and the locators considering the design rules mentioned in the video for the door applique.

1. Draft Analysis of Class A Surface:- On a visual inspection we find the most of the part is getting cleared through Y axis hence the tooling axis is Y-axis, hence draft analysis is performed using the tooling axis,

2. Draft analysis of final closed surface:-   Class B surface is created offsetting at a distance of 2.5 using commands like multisection surface and extapolations, after creation of class B surface we create Class C surface by sweeping the boundaries of class A surface and then joining the class C surface to Class B surface and trimming the both the surface and creating the final closed surface as below and performing the draft analysis we get the below result:-

3. Final Closed plastic body:- The final closed plastic body with given features with plastic features like Dog house, 4-way/2-way locators and also heat stakes are also in placed in place using boolean operations

4.Final Product

5. Tree Structures :-
