Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features
DOOR TRIM LOWER
As per the given class A of the door trim lower, I have determined its tooling axis visualing and checked it by drawing a line in the Y direction using featured draft analysing tool and found its green in the maximum deviation of 3 degrees. Then I made tooling axis and class A into publication.
Then I strated to create the required B surface by offsetting the class A 2.5 mm inwards. But the surface have missed some subsurfaces. So I cleared it by making three separate extract by removing some subsurfaces using the join tool. Then I extrapolated and trimmed the surfaces. And given the edge fillet needed by computing it with the offset and the fillet of the class A surface. Thus I got my B surface needed and made it into publication. Then I extrapolated a little bit if the edges of the B surface to get it trimmed with C surface.
Then I started to create my C surface. For that I sweeped the edges of the class A with reference to the class A surface with 90 degrees. Then I repaired the C surface which is not clear surface that we needed. After repairing it , I joined it with Class A and made it into publication.
Then I trimmed the B surface and the joined surface of class A and C surface to get my desired shape of the part. The part created is hollow inside.
Inorder to fill the hollow, I used close surface tool in the part design workbench and closed the surface and it become our main part.
Now I strated to create heat stakes in the given points and 2 four way locators. I created 4 way loactors in the positions it needed. Given it required height, thick, draft , chamfers and edge fillets. After creating one locator, I translated it another needed position with the help of point to point translation tool. And added it with the main part.
Then I started to create my heat stakes at the given points. For that , I drawn a sketch after creating a plane and padded it in the tooling direction. Then given .5 degrees of drafts to it . Then using the point to point translation tool, I translated the heat stakes to every point where I needed the heatstakes. Then I drawn the supportive ribs for the heat stakes and given drafts to it too. Then I union trimmed it with the main part by removing the parts I dont need. Then finally I given fillets to all needed edges.
Thus I completed my challenge with proper tree structures.
