Week 10 - Challenge 2- Attachment Feature Creation (Dog House)

Draft Analysis

  • Draft analysis is nothing but the analyzing the draft angle provided on the part as well as the core and cavity of the injection mold by the engineer.
  •  Usually draft angle is provided on the part and the core and cavity too reduce the wear and tear of the product while enjecting from the mold.
  • Usually the norminal draft angle 3deg is provided on the part.

Tooling Axis

  • The tooling axis of the product tells us the direction of movement where the part is being produced effectivity.
  • The side core and other things can be reduced.

Tooling axis created by three methods

  • Bisecting method
  • Point and direction

Bisecting Method

  • The intersection is crated directly in a sketch by using intersection option, were created by simply using intersection tool
  • The lines are drawn by taking the intersection lines are references. Just make sure to select the two points as a line type.
  • The two lines were drawn by simply selecting the two points.
  • The tooling axis is created by using the line tool, just make sure that to select the bisection option as a line type.
  • Bisecting lines are drawn by simply selecting the lines which are drawn above and the middle point.

Side Core Tooling Axis

  • Tooling axis the direction in which the mold or core and cavity opens is the tooling axis. connectivity of class A surface checking the connectivity of the surface this can be done by creating boundaries or by simply using the join option such that any opening can be easily visualized.
