Conclusion
Mixing tee for short pipe with momentum ration 2 shows an average outlet temperature of 303.43 K which is due to low velocity of mixing air. The low velocity does not produce enough turbulence mixing inside the tube to give better outlet temperature.
Similarly for short pipe with 4 momentum ratio gives better temperature drop at outlet as the velocity of mixing air ratio is increased, which provides better turbulence mixing of air and provides a better outlet temperature. Same scenario can be observed in case of long tee section in terms of outlet temperature difference. Therefore using high velocity for cold air to hot air gives better results.
Considering the mixing of hot and cold air in short and long with different velocities, it can be seen that with long pipe with high velocity air mixture have better mixing of fluids, whereas in other cases the mixing is dominated by hot air. Therefore long pipe with high velocity provides better results.
K-epsilon model predicts well far from the wall whereas k-omega model predicts well near the wall, since in this case there is no dealing with mixing of air near the wall, therefore k-epsilon model is preferred over k-omega for further simulation of model.
