Usage of Collaborate tool in REVIT
1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
INTRODUCTION:
The coordination between models using Revit’s Coordination Monitor and Interference Check tools will provide immediate visual feedback on differences and clashes between the host and linked model elements.
AIM:
To create an architectural template and Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Grid
- Manage
- Specific coordinate
- Project base point
PROCEDURE:
- To create the architectural template
- Next we do go to the architectural tab and click the grid option
-

-

- Next we go for an the manage tab and click the co ordinates tab and choose shared co ordinates
- To set the co ordinates at 0,0 north south and east west respetively

- After that the save the file
- To click the vg tab and choose the site to elobarte option
- To check the project base line

RESULT:
Finally we create the architectural template using of co ordinates and project base point

2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using the manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model
INTRODUCTION:
The coordination between models using Revit’s Coordination Monitor and Interference Check tools will provide immediate visual feedback on differences and clashes between the host and linked model elements.
AIM:
To create an Strctural template and Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Grid
- Manage
- Specific coordinate
- Project base point
PROCEDURE:
- To create the Strctural template
- Next we do go to the Strctural tab and click the grid option
-

-

- Next we go for an the manage tab and click the co ordinates tab and choose shared co ordinates
- To set the co ordinates at 0,0 north south and east west respetively

- After that the save the file
- To click the vg tab and choose the site to elobarte option
- To check the project base line

RESULT:
Finally we create the strcutral template using of co ordinates and project base point

3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model (enabling simultaneous working on the model)
AIM:
To using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Collaborate
- Copy
- Save
PROCEDURE:
- To create the architectural template
- Next we do go to the architectural tab and click the grid option
- To click the collaborate tab and click the collaborate

- In collaboarte option check the collaboarate in our network option
-
- And save the file and shows the one view to check the yes box

RESULT:
Finally we collaborate with central model

4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2
AIM:
To Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Architectural
- grid
PROCEDURE:
- To create the architectural template
- Next we do go to the architectural tab and click the grid option

- To gives the offset of the dimension of the 10 ft of the horizontal and vertical line

RESULT:
Finally we draw the transverse line in the architectural template

5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
AIM:
To Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Collaborate
- Synchronize with central
PROCEDURE:
- To click the collaborate option

- To click the synchronize with central option
- Open a tab check the box and click it
RESULT:
Finally local copy to the central file of the architectural model

6) Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
AIM:
To Open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Collaborate
- Copy
- Save
PROCEDURE:
- To create the Strctural template
- Next we do go to the strctural tab and click the grid option
- To click the collaborate tab and click the collaborate

- In collaboarte option check the collaboarate in our network option

- And save the file and shows the one view to check the yes box
- To click the collaborate option

- To click the synchronize with central option
- Open a tab check the box and click it
RESULT:
Finally structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file

7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model
AIM:
To Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Collaborate
- Copy
PROCEDURE:
- To click the insert tab

- To insert the project at the architectural file and click it

- The architectural tab is opened and click the visibility graphics
- The visibility graphics to click the revit links and add this

- To click the copy option to choose the aritectural grids and click to the finish tab

- The architectural and strctural are merged

RESULT:
Finally we collaborate the architectrual and strctural model

8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
AIM:
To create an Construction template and Save the new file as a central model
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Grid
- Manage
- Specific coordinate
- Project base point
- Collaborate
- Copy
PROCEDURE:
- To create the Construction template

- To click the collaborate tab and click the collaborate

- In collaboarte option check the collaboarate in our network option
- And save the file and shows the one view to check the yes box
- To click the collaborate option

- To click the insert tab

- To insert the project at the architectural file and strctural file click it

- The architectural tab is opened and click the visibility graphics
- The visibility graphics to click the revit links and add this
- To click the copy option to choose the aritectural grids and click to the finish tab

RESULT:
Finally we merged in construction template and architecture template
9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner
AIM:
To check the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template
TOOLS ARE USED:
- Copy
- Insert
- Visibility graphics
PROCEDURE:
- Once we completed the construction templeted in merged with strctural and architectural template
- To check the grid lines over the strctural and architectral template
- Once check and confirm same line

RESULT:
We check the template at the transverse line are matching
10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously
