Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING
Underbody coating is the process of providing additional layer of coat to the underside of the Chassis which are not in natural sight and more prone to corrosion and damage.
The BIW Frame manufactured in the plant undergoes a galvanized process of dipping in the specialized industry approved solutions to reduce the impact of corrosion to provide a long lasting output. Apart from that a layer of resilient coating is applied on the lower underside and spot welded portions of the chassis that improves the anti-chipping property. The layer of the coating provided falls under the approved regulations and the material composition and layer levels are measured to adhere the norms.

PURPOSE
Preventing the corrosion and rust
Car Manufacturer ensures the parts are durable and has enough anti rusting properties in normal drive conditions but cars used in coastal areas, poor road drive conditions and in areas of harsh weather conditions the underside panels and parts are subjective to the risk of corrosion and requires additional layer of coating.
Reducing the NVH levels
The consistency of the coating ensures that it is able to reduce the unpleasant noises produced by stone chips, gravels road debris hitting the car and considerably improves the NVH factors giving good cabin experience
Protecting the Underbody Components
The Underside of Vehicle has components like engine exhaust, silencer, front floor, frame rails, sills which are indispensable and vital that needs protection to reduce the serviceability cost due to rusting and improve the resale value of the car.
Thus Automobile Underbody coating maximizes the efficiency of the vehicle during its service life and creates a marketability factor for the OEM and resale value of the vehicle.
