Underbody Coating
Underbody coating is usually a dense cladding applied uniformly to the undercarriage of the automobile. It is normally sprayed or painted on when the car is just out of the dealership and is clean.
The main purpose of undercoating is to check rust especially in the body components like frame rails along with other exposed metal parts. Underbody coating can also reduce wear and tear.

Types of Underbody coating –
- Rubberised under body coating is generally the best option for protecting your vehicle's undercarriage, as it provides the simplest and best protective measures against rust and moisture.

2. Wax based underbody coating –
coating is a sparyed application of a wax or rubber based composite onto the entire underside of the vehicle. It is mainly designed to create a rust-proof layer between the underneath of the vehicle and the water, ice and salts of the road.
3. Asphalt based under body coating –
It's formulated with some bits of rubberized material to aid in noise reduction. It offers extra protection against chips and moisture but is not paintable and, therefore, only suitable for undercarriage

4. Polyurethane underbody coating –
This coating closes up splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle. It offers up good protection against corrosion and also bonds with the metal. Unlike in the case of asphalt-based coating, you can paint over the polyurethane coating.

Pros of underbody coating
1. Absorb Noise - For lightweight vehicles, noise pollution can be overwhelming to the driver in some situations. Applying a layer of undercoating creates a barrier against the sound, which creates an interior that is noticeably quieter. After the service is performed, many drivers notice that audio levels are noticeably lower inside their vehicles

2. Long Life- Good undercoating extends the life of your vehicle. Corrosion does more than affect the integrity of the metals in your vehicle. It can get into your metal wires and cables, affecting any component which is comprised of steel or aluminum. Even your transmission and engine have exposure to rust when there isn’t a vehicle undercoating applied.

3. Self Application- Rustproofing works best when you have this service professionally applied to your vehicle. If money is tight, however, and you have some basic car maintenance skills, then you can do the work yourself.

Con’s of underbody coating –
- It’s less helpful if corrosion is already present.
- It works best on new cars.
- A third-party vehicle underbody coating may void warranty
