Underbody Coating
UNDERBODY COATING:
- It is a dense cladding rubberish material applied under the vehicles in order to undergo rust and corrosion resistance.
- It protects the underparts of the vehicle, which physically can't be maintained periodically.
TYPES:
- Water-based undercoats
- Petroleum-based undercoats
- Asphalt based undercoats
WATER-BASED UNDERCOATS:
- It is the most popular and do-it-yourself process at an affordable rate.
- It gets into parts and is stored in aerosol formats.
- It will be available in normal automobile workshops.
- This process should be repeated frequently over a period of time.
PETROLEUM-BASED UNDERCOATS:
- They are based upon oil, hence providing the greatest deflective ability for road salts and grime.
- It helps to repel ice and water better than water-based undercoats.
- Available in-company workshop and replaced once a year.
ASPHALT-BASED UNDERCOATS:
- It is the strongest undercoating used under vehicles on all terrains, especially military vehicles.
- It is the best and most long-lasting undercoat that endure heavy road use.
- It is the thickest coating and has high damage resistance properties.
PROS:
- Protection against rust and corrosion.
- Protects from salt and sand in roadways.
- Protects the undercarriage of your vehicle.
- Maintain corrosion in the vehicle.
CONS:
- It is only suitable for newly manufactured vehicles.
- A used vehicle is not suitable for undercoating, without neglecting the existence of corrosion developed.
- In that manner removing the existing rust and corrosion, after the undercoating process takes place will be much more expensive.
