Underbody Coating

UNDERCOATING COATING : The cars body is exposed to wear and tear caused by muddy water, stones, potholed roads and other obstacles on the road. The underbody coating helps the car for long term solution for corrosion and rust. Underbody coating is a coating provided to the car for long term protection. It protects the underbody from protection and also protects parts like frame, body panels.

Cars manufacturers use thick paints and sealents for underbody. After the BIW is painted the body goes for sealent and paint process. The more better the ED undercoating will be the more better paint absorbtion and more corrosion resistence the body will be. The area where underbody coating is done is first cleaned properly and then sprayed.

Purpose of Underbody Coating : We consider our car as our major investment and it should be protected. Overtime this rust will cause corrosion and lead to part failure and lot of other issues. Rust is not that much risky but it may lead to number of different issues such as leakage that lead to fuel wasting, engine and transmission failure. For this underbody coating can be done. It acts as a defensive layer thats applied to surface of the vehicle body. It helps to reduce the interior noise. While driving the sounds of the road can be loud. For lighy vehicles the noise can be more to the driver. By applying the layer of undercoating creates a barrier against the sound which helps reducing the noise. good undercoating will extend the life of the vehicle. Corrosion does more affect to the metals in your vehicle. It can get into the metal wires affecting any component which is made up of steel and aluminium. the transmission and engine may also be harmedwhen there isn't a undercoating applied.

Types of underbody coating : 1) Rubberized underbody coating : It is considered as the best type of coating. It does a great job of keeping rust all covered up. It provides the simplest and best protective measures for rust and moisture. 2) Wax Based underbody coating : It is a long term protective product. It provides a firm black film with short drying time and good adhesion and flexibility on all metal surfaces. 3)Polyurethane underbody coating : This coating closes up the splits and fractures on the underbody of the vehicle. It offers up the good protection against corrosion and also bonds with the metals.

Pros of undercoating : 1) Fights rust 2) Absorbs noise 3) Reinforcement 4) Prolong car's life

Cons of undercoating : Oil based rustproofing must be reapplied every year for best results. The only way for an undercoating to provide ongoing protection for your vehicle is to have service repeated frequently.
