Tool Test-2
AIM : To check for any geometrical errors of the given CAD, the intake manifold followed by shell mesh under given quality criteria and then to tetra mesh it using ANSA.
INPUT : The engine intake manifold.

WORKING PROCEDURE :
- Geometry check and cleanup : The following were the errors in the given CAD, surface cracks were more dominant
-

- Feeding QUALITY and MESH parameters for SHELL MESH :
Min length : 1
Max length : 5
Average length : 3
- Shell meshing were done using TRIA and ORTHO TRIA elements with no off elements and with good surface integrity.

- The model is then forwaded to VOLUME MESH DECK.
- Prior to it the closed shell is first assigned as volume (SOLID) and the solid mesh criteria has been fed.
- TET COLLAPSE : 0.2
- The volume is then meshed using TETRA RAPID algorithm.
- The final result comes out as shown below:

- Challneges were that the elements were failing near the holes and the perimeter for Minimum Length of the casing, and could not be rectified using move grid option, which is then with the help of nearby macros Rconstructed and the failing elements were then taken care. The final result is free from any off elements( Max length, Min length, Collapse). And no dips and kinks were monitored when inspected.
