Structural dynamics
1. diffrenciate between static analysis and dynamc analysis
the main deffrence between static and dynamic analysisis TIME. if the time load is applied so slowely that inertia seffects wont play arole, all you need is staticanalysis.
dyanamic analysis handles impacts and other fast happenning situation, but also vibration (which happen in time).

2.

ELASTIC BEHAVIOUR- the ability of a deformed material body to return to its original shape and size when the force causing the deformation are removed.
ENELASTIC BEHAVIOUR- deformation of a material that does not disappper on removal of the force that produced it.
PLASTIC BEHAIVIOUER- THE MATERIAL deforms irreversbily and does not return to its orgininal shape and size even when the load is removed.
NONLINEAR INELASTIC BEHAVIOUR- material have elastic behaviour usally only up to a certain load, which is called yeild point after that the deformation are plastic rubber or instance has an elastic stress starin curve but the relation is not linear.
3.
MASS- mass in physics quantitative measure of inertia a fundamental properrt of all matter.
STIFNESS- stifeness is the extent to which an object resist deformation in responce to an applied force.
DAMPING- THE effect of rediation by an oscillating system and of the friction present in the system is that the amlitude of occilation gradually diminishes with time.
4.
a building natural frequency (n) is simply the inverse of the fundamental period(T). AND FOR FLEXIBLE AND DYNAMICALLY SENSITIVE BUILDING AND OTHER STUCTURE, THIS natural freqvencyis used in the calculation of the gust factor.
NATURAL FREQVENCY- the frequency at which a system oscillates when not subjected to a continuous or reapeted external force.
NATURAL TIME- the period of one complete oscillation of a body or system.
5.
RESPONSE SPECTRUM- a response spectrum is a function of frequency or period, showing the peak reponse of a simple harmonic oscillator that is subjected to transient event.the response spectrum is a function of the natural frequency of the oscillators and of its damping.
