Steering Geometry 1

1.

  1. Caster = 5.376 degree
  2. Mechanical trail = 9.41mm
  3. Kingpin inclination angle = 10 degree
  4. Scrub radius = 32.35mm
  5. Kingpin lateral offset = 84mm

2. Restoring moment = 68.82Nm

3. To change the sign of the scrub radius, we have two ways -

Modifying the coordinates of LCA ball joint.

  1. Without changing the height we can get negative scrub radius by moving the ball joint X coordinate to less than -776.19mm(towards the wheel).
  2. With changing the height we can get negative scrub radius by moving the ball joint Y coordinate to more than 210mm(away from the ground).

Modifying the coordinates of UCA ball joint.

  1. Without changing the height we can get negative scrub radius by moving the ball joint X coordinate to more than -537.5mm(towards the body).
  2. With changing the height we can get negative scrub radius by moving the ball joint Y coordinate to less than 250mm(towards the ground).
