Section Modulus calculation and optimization
SECTION MODULUS
SECTION MODULUS- Section modulus is a geometric property of a cross-section that measures its resistance to bending or deformation under external loading. It is defined as the ratio of the second moment of inertia to the distance from the neutral axis to the farthest point of the cross-section. The higher the section modulus, the lower the bending stress for a given load. Different shapes have different formulas for calculating their section modulus, such as rectangles, circles, I-beams.
