Roof Design Report: Challenge 7
Overview
The aim of this project is to construct a Front roof rail, two bow roofs, a center roof rail and make some modifications to the roof outer panel skin to accommodate the above mentioned additional features. In the end we have a thickened fully constructed roof with roof rail attachments.
Procedure
- Iniially use the extracted face of the roof outer rail and create an upper roof eithout holes in it.Now open the front roof rail document/mastersection and construct accordingly.It is important to use law extension with proper angles to make surfaces attached to the outer rail.Use face blends to sew them and fillet for smooth curvature.
- Mke sure to offset surfaces with minimum clearance so that when we thicken there are no issues.
- To make bow roofs , use the help video as guidance and construct a sheet structure using offset surface and through curves commandwith minimum clearance just below the roof outer panel. Provide proper fillets and sew them to form one sheet.
- Make two such bow roof surfaces at relatively flatter regions of the outer roof rail.
- For the center roof rail open the master section and construct it accordingly as needed.It is similar to bow roof in construction.
- In any case to check the commands used to construct and the specific order. Refer the feature groups created for each construction.
