REVIT_Usage of Collabrate tool_Week 6
1) Open an architectural template. Using the Manage tab set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
1st ans)
aim:-To set project base point shared coordinates for the project
Tools used:-architecture,grids,manage,coordinates
Procedure:-
Step 1:-Select grids option from architecture tab
Step 2:-Draw two grids(one horizontal and one vertical)
Step 3:-Now rename
Step 4:-Now select manage tab and select specify coordinates at point point
Step 5:-Now specify the coordinates as 0'0"
Step 6:-Now repeat the process for second grid
step 7:-now select the collaborate tab and click collaborate option

step 8:-now select withing the network option and save file as residential building-architecture

Result:-Have used manage tab to set project base point and project shared coordinates for the project
2) Open another new file but with a structural template. Using manage tab set project parameters the same as the architectural model. Copy the parameters from the architectural model to the structural template or enter the parameters manually into the structural model
Aim:-To open a new filw with structural template and using manage tab set project parameters the same as architectural template
Tools used:-grids,specify coordinates at point
Procedure:-
Step 1:-open structural template
Step 2:-Now select grids option from architectural tab
Step 3:-Now draw the grids as done in previous problem and also rename accordingly
Step 4:-Now from manage tab select the coordinates option
Step 5:-Now select specify coordinates at point option
Step 6:-Now we have placed both the coordinates at desired positions
Step 7:-Now save it as residential building-architectural.rvt
Result:-Now we have saved the structural file and placed them at desired location
3) Re-open the architectural model. Using the tools under the Collaborate tab make the architectural model a central model ( enabling simultaneous working on the model )
3rd ans)
Aim:-Collaborate the drawing and enable simultaneous working on the model
Tools used:-collaborate
Procedure:-
Step 1:-open th eprevious file(saved with name residential building_architectural)
Step 2:-Now seelct the collaborate option from collaborate tab
Step 3:-Now select the option within your network
Result:-Enabled simultaneous working on the model
4) Create the Grids Longitudinal and Transverse pattern for the project similar to the task done in Week 2
4th ans)
Aim:-To create longitudinal and transverse grids
Tools used:-grids
Procedure:-
Step 1:-select grid option from architecture

Step 2:-with a distance of 30' , draw grids horizontally and vertically and rename them
Result:-created the grids
5) Synchronize the changes from the local copy to the central file of the architectural model.
5th ans)
Aim:-To synchronize the changes from local copy to central file of the architectural model
Tools used:-synchronise tab
Procedure:-
Step 1:-after using collaborate option save the file
Step 2:-Select yes for the popup
Step 3:-Now select synchronize and modify settings from collaborate tab
Step 4:-Now synchronise with central
Result:-have synchronized the changes from local copy to central file of architectural
6) Open the structural model and using the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
6th ans)
Aim:-To open the structural model and use the collaborate tools to save the model as a central file.
Tools used:-collaborate
Procedure:-
Step 1:-Open a new project file
Step 2:-After the file is opened select the collaborate option from collaborate tab
Step 3:-Now save the model and continue
Step 4:-Now select the opton within your network
Result:-Collaborated the structural model as central file
7) Under the Collaborate tab, select the grids and levels from the architectural model, and using Copy Monitor try to copy the grids to the structural model. See what happens when the copy monitored grid is moved around in the structural model
7th ans)
Aim:-To use copy monitor and copy the grids to the structural model.
Tools used:-collaborate,copy monitor,select link,copy
Procedure:-
Step 1:-First collaborate the given fie and select within the network
Step 2:-Now select copy moniiot option from collaborate tab
Step 3:-Now select copy link option
Step 4:-Now copy the multiple grids
Step 5:-Now use the paste from clipboard option in the structural template
Step 6:-Now paste the grid
Result:-copied the grids
8) Create another new file with a construction template. Save the new file as a central model. This file will include both architectural and structural model. Under the manage tab, Click manage links to link both architectural and structural files. Save the file and close all the files.
8th ans)
Aim:-To create a file that includes both architectural and structural files
Tools used:-manage links
Procedure:-
Step 1:-Open a new construction template
Step 2:-NOw collaborate using collaborate tab
Step 3:-Now select within your network
Step 4:-Now select manage links from manage tab
Step 5:-Now load the files
Step 6:-We will get the linked files
Result:-Linked both the files
9) Are the grids from structural and architectural model matching in the construction template created? If yes the model is set up for project 2. If not work on the shared parameters and linking options under Manage links
( Hint: origin to origin, by shared coordinates or by project base point to base point ) to link the models in an appropriate manner
9th ans)
Aim:-To match the structural and architectural model in construction template
Tools used:-Relocate project,position,manage links
Procedure:-
Step 1:-Load the two files into the template
Step 2:-Now we can see that they are not aligned
Step 3:-Now select relocate project from position tab in manage tab
Step 4:-Now make the appropriate changes
Result:-Relocated the grids to desired positions
10) List a flow chart of a project tree set up in terms of Construction model, Architecture & Structure model, in this exercise and understand how many people can work on the same project using Revit simultaneously
