CHALLENGE 9: Reinforcement Detailing of Columns from ETABS output

QUESTION:

The ETABS file for a G+4 building is provided. Run the analysis and design the RCC Moment Resisting Frame. The following challenge deals specifically with two columns at the following grid intersections.

• Provide details of longitudinal reinforcement for the two columns, from foundation to terrace level. Sketch the column cross sectional & elevation details or draft it using AutoCAD software.
• Show shear reinforcement & lapping details as per special confining reinforcement provision of clause 8.1 of IS 13920 - 2016.

Aim:

To provide the details of longitudinal reinforcement for the two columns (3A & 3B), from foundation to terrace level.

Procedure:

• After downloading the Challenge open it in the ETABS 2018, as shown below.

Now change it to the Elevation View

Click on Start Design/Check Option to start designing and wait for it to finish.

Now the designing is complete, In order to view the Longitudinal and Shear reinforcement details click on Concrete frame design followed by Longitudinal and Shear reinforcement details from the drop down list.

RESULTS:

Model was Analysed and designed the RCC Moment Resisting Frame.

Using AutoCAD detailing of RC column was done.
