Radar Mast & Final Assembly of Yacht

RADAR MAST -

THE YACHT :

Objective :-

To model a Yacht using Solidworks.

Introduction :-

As the name suggests and so as the objective we model a yacht and to get through the process of making a 3D model of it we take the help of Solidworks. A yacht can be of many types here we model a sun seeker yacht , one with a garage and is smaller in proportions or rather say compact than a mega yacht . Here we model the yacht from the blueprints to create a great 3D model and renders os the same.

Design Approach :-

Design can be approached in many ways but here we take the bottom up approach where in we first build the base then further going up as shown in the following chart

Blueprints

Hull

Superstructure

Seats

Radar mast

Radar

Garage Door

Propellars

Description :-

The Hull is basically the base of the whole yacht it gives the structure and the character of the design of the model . Building up from the hull we know the propotions of where other structures are placed also giving the idea of the required size of the yacht. The pasr is huge and contains many small details which are done with the use of a lot of features such as sweep , cut, revolve , inserting planes and many more also adding the decals later on to give it a realistic look.

Above the Hull comes the Superstructure which is another part which has a lot of surface curves and sweeps lofts the whole of the assembly rotates around the surface features which make it possible to make such a sharp and fluent model of the superstructure of a yacht.

Along side the superstructure we also model the seats . The superstructure gives the idea of where and how the seats are to be palced and what dimensions are being set for it to get along the design of the superstructure

Now comes the radar mast and radar small yet one of the most important part of the yacht. The radar signifies the yacht in one way or the other also has to be mdelled with keeping the base in mind just some revolve and mirror features were enough to model the radar and the radar mast.

Moving over to the smaller parts such as the propellar which can be created with a revolve and an extrude feature with the linear pattern applied to the turbine fan.

Garage door again being a small part but adds a lot to the details of the assembly

Assembly :-

The assembley here has to be on place as we have modelled the three main surfaces i.e the hull , superstructure and the radar mast in correspondence to each other the mating process becomes easier and can be done to perfection.

Final Renders :-

Conclusion :-

Starting from the blueprints to modelling the yacht as a whole assembley within the solidworks using various features for surface to solids and giving a shrarp looking Sunseeker Yacht as a result concludes this report.
