Radar Mast & Final Assembly of Yacht
MODELLING AND RENDERING A PREDATOR YACHT
OBJECTIVE :
To create a 3D model of Yacht using SolidWorks and rendering it with Solidworks Visualisation.
INTRODUCTION :
The modelling of Yatch involves 3 steps
- Parts Modelling.
- Parts Assembly
- Rendering the Model.
The Yacht consists of 7 parts :
- Hull.
- Superstructure.
- Radarmast.
- Radar.
- Propeller.
- Garage door.
- Front, Middle and Rear Seats.
DESIGN METHODOLOGY :

DESCRIPTION :
1. Yacht Hull :
The hull of a ship is the most notable structural entity of the ship. To define the hull, it can be said that it is the watertight enclosure of the ship, which protects the cargo, machinery, and accommodation spaces of the ship from the weather, flooding, and structural damage.

Tools/Features used for Hull :
- Surface Loft.
- Surface Sweep.
- Surface Trim.
- Ruled Surface.
- Boundary Surface.
- Surface Extrude.
- Knit Surface.
- Filled Surface.
- Boss Sweep.
- Boss Extrude.
- Cut Extrude.
- Revolve.
- Shell.
- Fillet.
- Chamfer.
- Split.
2. Superstructure :
A superstructure is a decked structure on the freeboard deck, extending from side to side of the ship or with the side plating not being inboard of the shell plating more than 4% of the breadth. A raised quarter-deck is regarded as a superstructure.

Tools/Features used for Superstructure :
- Surface Loft.
- Surface Sweep.
- Surface Trim.
- Ruled Surface.
- Boundary Surface.
- Surface Extrude.
- Knit Surface.
- Filled Surface.
- Boss Sweep.
- Boss Extrude.
- Cut Extrude.
- Revolve.
- Shell.
- Fillet.
- Chamfer.
- Split.
3. Radarmast :
Radarmast is an electronic navigation instruments that use a rotating antenna to sweep a narrow beam of microwaves around the water surface surrounding the ship to the horizon, detecting targets by microwaves reflected from them, generating a picture of the ship's surroundings on a display screen.

Tools/Features used for Radarmast :
- Revolve.
- Boss Extrude.
- Sweep Boss.
- Projected Curve.
- Dome.
- Fillet.
- Chamfer.
4. Radar :
Radio Detection and Ranging, is used to detect objects and their position relative to your current location. It works by sending out a radio signal. When the signal hits an object, it gets reflected back to the radar, which can then calculate a rough estimate of the object.

Tools/Features used for Radar :
- Boss Extrude.
- Pattern(Surface driven).
- Fillet.
- Mirror.
5. Garage Door :

Tools/Features used for Garage Door :
- Cut Extrude.
- Boss Extrude.
- Fillet.
- Chamfer.
- Mirror.
6. Propellers :
Propellers are used to pump fluid through a pipe or duct, or to create thrust to propel a boat through water or an aircraft through air. ... Most marine propellers are screw propellers with helical blades rotating on a propeller shaft with an approximately horizontal axis.

Tools/Features used for Propellers :
- Revolve.
- Loft base.
- Fillet.
- Cut Extrude.
- Pattern.
7. Seats :
There are three seats in Yacht modelling.
- Front Seat.
- Middle Seat.
- Rear Seat.
Front Seat :

Middle Seat :

Rear Seat :

Tools/Features used for Seats :
- Surface Loft.
- Surface Sweep.
- Surface Trim.
- Mirror.
- Surface Extrude.
- Knit Surface.
- Boss Extrude.
- Cut Extrude.
- Fillet.
- Chamfer.
