Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1. Major Elements from WIRING DIAGRAM.

Generator,

Distributor,

Breaker,

Ignition Coil,

Starter,

Battery,

Current and Voltage Regulator,

Ammeter,

Junction Block.

Starter System.

2. Generator, Distributor, Battery.

Generator:

Purpose- To generate electricity

Working- A coil in it rotates in the electromagnetic/magnetic field to produce current.

Starter System:

Purpose- For cranking the engine.

Working- It is basically a motor which is geared up to a flywheel to initiate the crank.

Battery:

Purpose- It stores electrical energy & supplies it when required

Working- It has two electrodes in an electrolyte where electrons are transferred in between then to produce electrical energy.

3. In general fuse rating is 125% of load, here load is 10A.

125% of 10A is 12.5A SO fuse rating is 12.5A.

4.

I = P/V

= 500/12

=41.66 (42)

⁓45V Battery is Recommended. (5% high)

5.

Parallel connections: Horn-Parking Lamp, Plate lamp-Tail Lamp

Reason- To provide equal amount voltage for both of them to operate and independent operation

Series Connection: Ignition coil-Breaker, Ammeter-ALL other

Reason- Current flows through out the circuit, Ignition coil and breaker is a feedback system, so it operated in a circuit to work properly
