Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

Explain the purpose and working of any three elements briefly

Fuse - Fuse are used to avoide flow of excess current in the circuit. It consists of non flamable thin mettalic wire with low melting point , when high amount of current is passed through this electric fuse the wire melts and circuits opens and avoide excess current to flow through the circuit.

Battery - In a circuit the battery is main source of energy that provides voltage which allows current to flow. It converts chemical energy to electric energy . The chemical reaction in the battery involve flow of electrons from anode to cathode through external circuit which creats flow of current.

Generator - Generators convert mechanical energy to electric energy. They work on the principle of electromagnetic induction , which states that change in the magnetic field around conductor genrates electric in the circuit.

If the total load is 10A from battery, what should be the fuse rating?

Ans - If total load is 10A Fuse rating should be 13A to 15A

If 500W is the load, what is the voltage and capacity of battery you recommend?

Ans - If we select 12V battery ,

Current = Power / Voltage = 500 / 12 = 41.66A

Battery Capacity = Power * 1hour / 12 = 41.66Ah

So , according to standard we can select 12V 60Ah Battery

Identify any two elements which are connected parallel to each other. Why they are connected in parallel?

Ans - Dome light Switch , Tail Stop , Horn Button , these elements are connected in parallel. They are connected in parralel as they need equal supply of voltage to run & should be able to keep running even if one of the elemnts are cut off.

Identify any two elements which are connected in series. Why they are connected in series?

Ans - Brake actuater and brake light , tail stop , Battery & Fuse these elements are connected in series. They are connected in series so as one of the elements stops working the current should pass through them to the next element to avoid damage.
