Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1.The major elements in automotive wiring they are
- Battery
- Starter
- Ignition coil
- Ammeter
- Current and voltage regulator
- Battery cables or power liners
- Junction block
- Generator
- Foot selector switch
- Fuse block
- Distributor
- Breaker
- Tail light,parking light,horn,gas tank unit etc.....
2. Starter purpose and working
Starters are devices that control the use of electrical power to equipment. As the name implies, starters “start” motors. They can also stop, reverse, accelerate and protect them. Starters are made from two building blocks: contactors and overloads..
The starter motor is responsible for turning the engine over during ignition and allowing everything else to happen. When you turn the ignition on, the starter motor engages and turns the engine over allowing it to suck in air.
Battery purpose and working
Batteries and similar devices accept, store, and release electricity on demand. Batteries use chemistry, in the form of chemical potential, to store energy, just like many other everyday energy sources.
A battery is a device that stores chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy. The chemical reactions in a battery involve the flow of electrons from one material (electrode) to another, through an external circuit. The flow of electrons provides an electric current that can be used to do work
Fuse purpose and working
The primary use of an electric fuse is to protect electrical equipment from excessive current and to prevent short circuits or mismatched loads. Electrical fuses play the role of miniature circuit breakers. Apart from protecting equipment, they are also used as safety measures to prevent any safety hazards to humans.
An electrical fuse is a safety device that operates to provide protection against the overflow of current in an electrical circuit
3.15A FUSE IS USED
4.
500w load
capacity=500/12=41.66wh
5.
Head lights, brake light, tail light, horn are connected in parallel.Head lights of a car are connected in parallel. If they were connected in series if one bulb gets fused the other one will also not glow. So for safety reasons the two bulbs are connected in parallel,Connecting the bulbs in parallel means that electricity goes through each bulb only once
6.
The ignition circuit is an example of wiring in series. This means that all components receive the same amount of current All the circuit components are connected so that the same amount of current flows through each. The circuit must have continuity. If a wire is disconnected or broken, current stops flowing. If one load is open, none of the loads will work. Ignition coil,Regulator, ammeter, fuel gauge are in series circuit
