Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
Ans1. :- The major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram are as follows:-
Battery, gas tank unit, starter, distributor, generator, ignition coil, breaker, current and voltage regulator.
Ans2. :- 1. Battery:- In automotive battery acts as a source of energy which is required to start the vehicle. It also supplies current to other elements like tail lights, scaled beams, ignition coil, horn
2. Gas tank unit:- It is a storage for gas which acts as a fuel so that the vehicle can be driven.
3. Distributor:- It is an element which didtributes spark to each cylinder inside the engine. Supply of 12V from ignition coil is received at distributor which futher distributes the spark inside the cylinder according to the firing order of the engine.
Ans3. :- A fuse of 10A rating should be used over here as the load from the battery is 10A and additional supply to the element can damage it. so 10A fuse will act as a breaker which will break the circuit and sve the element from damage.
Ans4. :- Battery capacity means the amount of energy battery can supply for certain interval of time. expressed in Ah
Power(P)= 500W; V=12V , considering the tiome requirement as 1 hour
current(I)=p/v
I= 500/12
I= 41.66A
Now, Battery capacity (Ah)= Current * time
= 41.66Ah
therfore i will recommend the voltage of 12v and 50Ah of battery capacity.
Ans5. :- Horn and Tail lights are connected in parallel because both requires 12V of supply to operate and when the horn switch is on 12v supply goes to it and horn blows and while braking tail light gets operated as the driver apply brakes the taillight switch gets on.
Ans6. :- Ammeter and current-voltage regulator agre connected in series as equal amount of current can be measured from battery as well as generator before giving supply to the fuse box, horn , Lights and regulate the current and voltage.
