Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1.Battery, starter, ammeter, fuse, ignition coil, current and voltage regulator, generator, breaker
2.Generator: Convets mechanical energy to electrical energy. The mechanical energy will create a relative motion between stator and rotor, this distrups the magnetic field and flux is generated. And thereby currrent flows.
Fuse: Protects the whole circuit from any excess current which may damage the compents or the operator. If excess current is passed through fuse the heat produced increases as it is proportional to square of current and it melts the fuse wire which will result into an open circuit and protects the circuit from the excess current.
Battery: Provides energy for starting or ignition of the engine(combustion). It is a pack of cells. Energy is stored in electric field in inductors and capacitorsby electric charges. while discharging charge flows and stored electric field decreases. Higher voltage is used for reducing power loss.
3.Fuse rating is expressed in Whatt.
voltage in a practical automotive wiring circuit = 14V
So power required is = I*V = 10*14 = 140 Whatt
4.As mentioned before I = 10A
If load is of 500W,
voltage, V = 500/10 = 50V
And capacity of battery in amphere hour = 10Ah
5.Tail stops and sealed beams are connected in paralell with themselves respectively.
All tail stops need same voltage so paralell connection is choose. And if one of them is not working all others must work.
Same feature comes for sealed beams also.
6.Battery and ammeter is connected in series and ammeter and fuse is connected in series.
Current from battery must be monitorised at all conditions so it is connected in series with ammeter. Because currrent is same in series connection.
Ammeter is connected in series with fuse because any excess current must make fuse to shut down the circuit. So ammeter is connnected in series with fuse because current is same through out a series connection.
