Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

1 . Generator

Ammeter

Battery

Starter

Distributor

Junction block

All switches

Breaker

Ignition coil

All light and lamps

Tail stop

Fuel gauge

Fuse

Current and voltage regulator

Gas tank

2 . Generator :

A car generator is a Dynamo . It is able to produce electricity through the rotation of tightly wound fine wires in a magnetic field.

The regenerative energy generated when applying the brakers is used to charge the battery

Purpose :

• The generator is used for starting and running the Vehicle .

•. The generator generates electrical energy

Battery :

When you insert the key in your car's ignition and turn the switch or push the button to on a signel is sent to the car's battery upon receiving the signal ,the car battery converts chemical energy into mechanical energy.this electrical power is delivered to the generator .

A typical sli battery has six cells.

Purpose:

The battery can store the energy and supply the energy when needed

The battery can continuously supply surge current to the circuit.

Earthing ;

The body is connected to the earth terminal of the battery by a thick cable .in a negative (-) earth returns system , the current flows from the positive (+) terminal to the component being operated . The component is earthed to the car body ,which is earthed to the negative (-) terminal of the battery

Purpose :

The purpose of earthing to minimize the risk of receiving on electric shock if touching metal parts when a fault is present

It shields from the fire that occurred due to an electric short circuit

3 . Fuse rating =1.5*total load from battery

= 1.5 *10

= 15 A

4 . To find voltage

P= v*I

500= v*10

V= 500/10

V= 50 volt

To find the battery capacity

Let consider 1 hours

C=I*T

C=10*1

C=10 Ah

Battery capacity = 10 Ah

5 .

The elements which are connected in parallel are as follow Parking lamp
Horn
Sealed beam
Tail stop
dome light
Plastic light
Almost all the elements which are connected to the earthing.

A horn, for example, is designed to have a degree of resistance so that it consumes a certain current to produce sound normally.

But there are at least two horns in the circuit. If they were connected in series, electric current would have to go through one horn to get to the other.

The current would encounter the resistance twice, and the double resistance would halve the current so that the horn would produce sound only feebly.

Connecting the horns in parallel means that electricity goes through each horn only once.

6. .

The elements which are connected in series are as follow.
ammeter
Fuel gauge
dome light switch
stop light switch
basically all the switches

the sender in the gas tank unit varies its resistance according to the amount of fuel in the tank, and 'sends' a small electrical current to the fuel gauge.

The two components are connected in series so that the varying resistance in the sender will affect the position of the needle on the gauge.

similarly, for all switches, switches used to on or off the circuit means they should connect in series so that circuit will complete.
