Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit

  1. Identify each of the major elements in the above automotive wiring diagram.

There are some major elements like

1)GENETRATOR.

2) CURRENT AND VOLTADE REGULATOR .

3) BATTERY.

4) STARTER

5) BREAKER.

6) DISTRIBUT0R.

2. Explain the purpose and working of any three elements briefly.

i)BATTERY

A battery is a device that stores chemical energy and converts it to electrical energy. The chemical reactions in a battery involve the flow of electrons from one material (electrode) to another, through an external circuit. The flow of electrons provides an electric current that can be used to do work

ii) GENETRATOR

A car generator is a dynamo. It is able to produce electricity through the rotation of tightly wound fine wires in a magnetic field. This magnetic field is maintained by a fixed arrangement of magnets or electromagnets surrounding the spinning windings of wire.

iii) DISTRIBUT0R

A distributor is an enclosed rotating switch used in spark-ignition internal combustion engines that have mechanically timed ignition. The distributor's main function is to route high voltage current from the ignition coil to the spark plugs in the correct firing order, and for the correct amount of time.

3) If the total load is 10A from battery, what should be the fuse rating?

Fuse Rating should be greater than 10A

4) If 500W is the load, what is the voltage and capacity of battery you recommend?

Our load is 500W

We have 12V battery

I = W/V

I = 500/12 = 41.6Ah is our battery capacity

5). Identify any two elements which are connected parallel to each other. Why they are connected in parallel?

* TAIL STOP AND PLATE LIGHT

The resistance of each light bulb stays the same when one bulb in parallel blows out. The voltage drop stays the same too because that's the nature of a parallel arrangement. And that leads to why current stays the same in each "route" -- which means that P (= I*V) stays the same

6). Identify any two elements which are connected in series. Why they are connected in series?

AMMETER AND FUSE

In a series connection, the current flowing through all the components of the circuit is the same. Ammeter aims at measuring the current in the circuit, hence it is connected in series so that the same current that is there in the circuit flows through it and gets measured.

The fuse wire is connected in series so that the whole network is switched off when fuse blows off.
