Project - Analysis of a practical automotive wiring circuit
1. Major elements:
i.Battery
ii. Generator
iii. Distributor
iv. Starter
v. Ignition coil
vi. Fuel ON/OFF
vii. Ammeter
viii. Current & Voltage regulator
ix. Ignition switch
x. Breaker
xi. Foot seiector switch
xii. Indicator lamps
2. Purpose and working
Battery:
The battery is mainly used to start the vehicle. The battery stores electrical energy and supplies power to all electronics parts of the vehicle.
The working of the battery is it stores the electrical energy by reverse chemical reaction and supplies the electrical energy by the chemical reaction. The battery consist of Anode,Cathode and Electrolyte solution. The flow of electrons gives the electric current.
Generator:
The purpose of the generator is to generate electricity and to charge the battery.
The working of the generator is it coverts mechanical energy into electrical energy. The generator of Rotor, Stator, Commutators and brushes.
Distributor :
The distributor is used to supply voltage in a specified time to the spark plug
The distributor's rotor rotates and the voltage is supplied to each of the spark plugs at the correct time. the distributor is used to supply the current from the ignition coil to the different spark plugs individually in the desired time.
3. For 10A load battery a fuse of 15A should be used because for a 10A load a fuse of above 10 A should be used and the next higher value of fuse available is 15 A.
4. Given ,
Load =500 Watt
Assuming,
Battery volt = 12V
Working time = 3hr
Required power is 500W * 3 hrs = 1500 KWh
Load Ah of battery 1500 / 12 = 125 Ah
There for I recommend 12 V 150 Ah battery
5. The two scaled beam are connected in parrallel connection and the two parking lamps are connected in parrallel connection to ensure equal amount of voltage supply in both elements.
6. The ammeter and Ignition coil is connected in series connection because the current in series will be constant and hence the accurate amount of current entering the ignition coil can be measured using the ammeter.
