AIM

To study the system level Simulink of an all-terrain vehicle.

Keywords: CVT, lookup table, Dashboard, Baja Atv

software: Matlab and Simulink

objective:-

1. Study the Baja ATV model without a dashboard

2. Study the Baja ATV model with a dashboard

3. Study the Baja ATV model using a lookup table without a dashboard.

4. Study the Baja ATV model using a lookup table with a dashboard

introduction:-

Transmission, which transmits the power from the engine to the wheels through the shaft.it consists of four types mainly

  1. Manual transmission
  2. continuous variable transmission
  3. Semi-auto transmission
  4. Automatic transmission

A continuously variable transmission, or CVT, is a type of Automatic transmission that provides more useable power, a better fuel economy, and a smoother driving experience than a traditional automatic transmission.

The CVT is a system that makes it possible to vary stepless the transmission without interruption of the torque flow.CVT is are also lightweight than traditional automatic transmission.

CASE_1.

Using Simulink model of CVT consist of the signal builder, generic engine, motion sensor, vehicle transmission, vehicle body, tires, and solver. below fig.(1)

CVT SUBSYSTEM

VEHICLE BODY SUBSYSTEM:-

The signal builder is used as input for brake, throttle, and gear ratio. Brake input is maintained as 0 for overall Simulink.

gear ratio.

OUTPUT

Variation of velocity & Shaft speed

A) plots of vehicle Speed

B) CVT Shaft Speed

2. STUDY OF BAJA WITH DASHBOARD MODEL

The above figure shows BAJA AVT with dashboard model which consists of throttle meter and breaks input in the dashboard instead of giving input through the signal builder.

Run the program

in the above figure, the velocity of the vehicle is maintained as constant for constant throttle value as 0.3mand varying by increasing the value of throttle which increase the velocity of the vehicle.

output:-

CVT SHIFT RPM:-

in the above figure, the velocity of the vehicle is maintained as constant for constant throttle value as 0.3mand varying by increasing the value of throttle which increase the velocity of the vehicle.

3. Study the Baja ATV model using a lookup table without a dashboard.

By above the diagram Simulink model of CVT consist of step time, generic engine, motion sensors, vehicle transmission, vehicle body, tire and solver configuration block, etc

BLOCK DIAGRAM INSIDE

A lookup table is an array of data that maps input value to output value, thereby approximating a mathematical function. Given a set of input values, a lookup operation retrieves the corresponding output value from retrieves

OUTPUT RESULT:-

A) vehicle speed:-

B) OUTPUT CVT

in the above result fig, the breck is maintained as constant and increase in throttle which shows an increase in velocity. The flow of fuel is increase when the throttle increase from 0.3 to 1, thus the power in the engine increase.

4. Study the Baja ATV model using a lookup table with a dashboard

MODAL DIAGRAM :

A lookup table is an array of data that maps input value to output value, thereby approximating a mathematical function. Given a set of input values, a lookup operation retrieves the corresponding output value from retrieves

OUTPUT :

a) VEHICLE SPEED

B) CVT shaft rpm

IN the above figure, the velocity of the vehicle is maintained ads constant for constant throttle value as 0.3 and varying by increasing the velocity the value of throttle, which increases the velocity of vehicle .by using a lookup table, it works as a closed-loop by recording the velocity value and we can get at any particular value of gear ratio which is beyond the range or any random value within the range by using extrapolation and interpolation by a lookup table.

CONCLUSION:-

Thus we have successfully analyzed 4 different models of BAJA AVT WITH CVT and recorded the output concerning variation in input throttle and brack
