Project 2 Thermal modeling of battery pack

Objective :-Thermal Modeling of battery pack

Base model for modeling

Description :- A battery pack consist of 10 cells connected in series in 3 groups ,1 group has 4 cells in series ,2 has only one cell and 3rd group has 5 cells in series

Subsystem of battery pack:-

Cell 01 to 04

Cell Subsystem consist of Thermal model and and 1RC lithium cell model which calculate the temperature and thermal effect of the cell and PS gain block which multiplies input physical signal by constant y=U*gain.

Thermal Subsystem:-

Thermal subsystem consist 3 blocks :- Battery thermal mass ,Thermal sensor and controlled heat flow rate source.

Controlled heat flow rate source block:- The block positive direction is from A to B .This means positive signal at port S generate heat flow in the direction from A to B.

Thermal Sensor :- The block positive is from A to B .The measured temperature is determined as T=TA-TB.

Battery thermal mass:-Battery thermal mass reflect the ability of material or combination of material to store internal energy .

Equation:- Q=c.m*dT/dt.

Lithium 1RC Subsystem :-

This block consist of Capacitor Value (C) depends on external physical signal SOC and T .

Resistance value R table depends on external Physical signal input SOC and T.

Em represents cell's main branch voltage source and determines values for capacity and SOC .

Procedure and Fundamental Blocks used :-
