Aim

The Aim of this Power BI Report is to perform analysis of Global Data on Sustainable Energy Worldwide based on energy sources people use from different Countries and their growth.

Introduction

Energy Sources like fossil fuels, nuclear and renewable energy which are being available to people help in improving financial development of countries. Analysis has been made to identify how many people have access to such energy sources and how the countries financial development improved over the years from 2000 to 2020.

Problem Statement

Burning of fossil fuel causes lots of co2 emission which affects the environment of the earth, but nuclear and renewable energy doesn’t cause such emission which helps to keep the environment unaffected. Nuclear energy can produce huge amount of energy but comes with the risk of major destruction if not handled or maintained properly The Analysis will improve people having access to more renewable energy sources and safe nuclear energy source by also improving countries overall GDP and to reduce co2 emission as low as possible.

Methodology

· Data Exploration

o Data Exploration is a review of data to observe dataset characteristics and patterns.

· Data Importing

o Import data from tables in Worksheets.

· Data Cleaning

o Data Cleaning is the process of modifying data to ensure that it is free of irrelevances and incorrect information.

· Data Interpretation

o Data Interpretation is the process of using diverse analytical methods to review data and arrive at relevant information.

· Data Visualization

o Data Visualization is the process of using visual elements like charts, graphs, gauge, or maps to represent data.

· Filtering

o Filter is used to extract the required information from huge amount of dataset and controls the information in the report and visuals.

Analysis

The Dataset contains following,

· Country- Renamed Entity as Country. Names of 176 Countries who has sustainable energy.

  • Year: The year for which the data is reported, ranging from 2000 to 2020.
  • Access to electricity (% of population): The percentage of the population with access to electricity.
  • Access to clean fuels for cooking (% of population): The percentage of the population with primary reliance on clean fuels.
  • Renewable-electricity-generating-capacity-per-capita: Installed Renewable energy capacity per person.
  • Financial flows to developing countries (US $): Aid and assistance from developed countries for clean energy projects.
  • Renewable energy share in total final energy consumption (%): Percentage of renewable energy in final energy consumption.
  • Electricity from fossil fuels (TWh): Electricity generated from fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas) in terawatt-hours.
  • Electricity from nuclear (TWh): Electricity generated from nuclear power in terawatt-hours.
  • Electricity from renewables (TWh): Electricity generated from renewable sources (hydro, solar, wind, etc.) in terawatt-hours.
  • Low-carbon electricity (% electricity): Percentage of electricity from low-carbon sources (nuclear and renewables).
  • Primary energy consumption per capita (kWh/person): Energy consumption per person in kilowatt-hours.
  • Energy intensity level of primary energy (MJ/$2011 PPP GDP): Energy use per unit of GDP at purchasing power parity.
  • Value_co2_emissions_kt_by_country: Carbon dioxide emissions per person in metric tons.
  • Renewables (% equivalent primary energy): Equivalent primary energy that is derived from renewable sources.
  • GDP growth: Annual GDP growth rate based on constant local currency.
  • GDP per capita: Gross domestic product per person.
  • Density (P/Km2): Population density in persons per square kilometer.
  • Land Area (Km2): Total land area in square kilometers.
  • Latitude: Latitude of the country's centroid in decimal degrees.
  • Longitude: Longitude of the country's centroid in decimal degrees.

Note : I have attached Screenshots of the visualization named as "Main Dashboard", "Energy consumption and Emission", "GDP" and "Renewable Energy".

Further Analysis

· There are 176 countries from data that has been taken regarding energy usage.

· The GDP growth is dependent on primary energy like clean fuel, nuclear and renewable energy.

· India is the top country with highest financial flows.

· The top 10 countries with high financial flows over the years are India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Turkey, Indonesia, Morocco, Egypt, Argentina, and Chile which are ranked respectively.

· Co2 emission is huge in China and United states when compared to other countries.

· Renewable energy share in total final energy consumption is very low or zero in countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Cayman Islands, Albania, Bahrain, and Omen.

· Bhutan and Paraguay have high renewable electricity generating capacity per capita.

· Electricity generated from fossil fuels is almost 2.5 times higher than electricity which is generated from nuclear and renewable energy.

· India has high density of population.

· People having access to electricity has increased over the years.

· People having access to clean fuels has remained almost the same over the years.

· Asian countries have good increase of GDP per capita.

· Low carbon electricity has only peak in the year 2020.

· Qatar, Iceland, and Bahrain have high primary energy consumption per capita.

· Data can be filtered by year and Country names to get Data based on requirements.

Insights

· The report provides valuable insights about energy consumption per person for each country.

· Overall renewable energy consumption has increased a lot over the years.

· A few amounts of co2 emissions have been increased over the years which is good for the environment.

· People’s use of fossil fuels remains the same over the years.

RECOMMENDATIONS

· Increase of people having consumption of renewable energy reduces co2 emissions which improves the environmental and overall GDP of countries.

· Countries should focus on getting more usage of nuclear and renewable energy.

· More data of high quality with more information helps make the data more useful to analyze and study.

· The percentage of low carbon electricity should be increased steadily.

Conclusions

· From this Analysis, Countries overall GDP depends highly on fossil fuels and some on renewable and nuclear energy.

· Developed countries like United States, China, Brazil, and Canada shown they are investing on renewable energy.

· Fossil fuel is the most highly used energy and nuclear energy is the least used energy as overall by countries except United Stated where they are more dependent on nuclear energy than renewable energy.
