Project 2_Creating a 3D rendered model for a Residential Building in AutoCad

Aim:-

Create a 3 dimensional model of the residential building with a rendered view.

Introduction:-

In this project we are going to create a 3d model of a residential building. Rendering is a process in which the solid blocks are given texture using various materials like paint,glass, concrete,wood etc.

AutoCAD is primarily used for generating 2D sketches. While it is possible to create 3D objects, AutoCAD is built around a flat sketch -based interface. 3D objects are cylinders, spheres and wedges and many more.We use 2D objects and modify them using 3D commands accordingly so we can use 3D commands like extrude, sweep, revolve and union.

Procedure:-

• Open auto cad and select the option 3d modelling
• then set the units to feet and inches
• For creating a 3d model firstally, we have to create a 2d drawing of a residential buliding by using comands like line,offset,trim etc.
• Apply all the layers in it to avoid the later confusion.

• now create a boundary region of all the outer walls and inner walls
• then extrude them till the height of 10'

• After creating the walls we need to create the window gap in the wall, for that place a solid body object at all the places where the window is required and then subtract it from the wall.
• Now, the window frames and doors are need to be created.
• For that create a rectangle and then make an offset of it.
• Give different colour to different layer for better understanding.

• On the top create the slab and copy the ground floor on the top that will be our first floor.
• Then create the stair wall and the parapet wall on the terrace.

• Now allign the texture to the 3d model from the material browser

• Now add some spotlights to the building to provide some extra lightning to our model
• For that simply go to spotlight select the place where the lights are need to be placed,then provide the intisity of the choice.
• Then create a gate at the main entrance

RESULT:-

3d rendered image of a 2 storey residential building is created.
