Project 2 - 2D meshing on the instrumental Panel
Objective:
Checking for the Geometry cleanup, taking the mid surface, and Meshing with the given 2D element Quality criteria ,for the given CCB CAD model.
Quality criteria:
Following the below steps :
- Taking the geometry for portal.
Download the geometry from the portal and open it in the ANSA software . It looks like ,
- Do Topo on the following model :
To connect the geometry together do Topo.
3.Geometry cleanup:
Do Geometry check to see any errors are present in geometry or not .If errors are there Fix the errors .
Here we got the errors after Executing ,
This is a example of one geometry error ,
We fixed the errors and got the clean geaometry.
Using Casting method to take Mid surface and 2D Meshing:
Used Casting method to take Mid surface and 2D Meshing as Casting is very time efficeient method ,it saves the time as well as we get the better mesh flow.
Before Casting we have to provide the required quality criteria and mesh parameters.
From faces option in TOPO tab Press long on Midsurface option we get the Casting option select it,
We get the other window ,
put the Minimum thickness 0.5 and Target element length as per quality given as 4,
Go to Options option uncheck the stop at geometry option as we removed the geometry errors and have clean geometry.
Click on OK. We get the Midsurface and Mesh simultaneously.
It takes some time to complete Casting.
As it is seen some elements are not meet the required standards for We can improve mesh flow manually.The casting algorithm appeared to be inaccurate in many areas, particularly when it come to hole captures and cuts.
There are some Failed elements near to Triple CONS or at smaller regions which are bounded by two Triple CONS, those OFF elements as it is if not possible to solve.
As per the requirements,
after finishing challenge Draw shell as solid is be activated .
